Just having finished two movie soundtracks, with "Lyckantropen Themes" receiving a Norwegian Grammy nomination, ULVER's "A Quick Fix of Melancholy" is from the spaces in between. A passage over passages, re-introducing vocals to the delight of the faithful. "Vowels", a borderline operatic piece, features words by the Canadian author Christian Bök, whereas "Little Blue Bird", a nocturnal flight towards the sun, is written by the band. Trickster G's performance is mesmerizing and proves once again he is one of the most versatile singers across styles. Also included is a new instrumental track as well as a bonus re-mix of "Nattleite" from their classic 1995 "Kveldssanger" album.

ENFORSAKEN -- The Chicago-based melodic death/thrash metal quintet ENFORSAKEN has signed an exclusive worldwide recording deal with Olympic Recordings/Century Media. The group -- vocalist Steven Sagala, bassist Eric Kawa, drummer David Swanson and guitarists Joe DeGroot and Steve Stell -- will soon finish recording their full-length debut, The Forever Endeavor, with producer Chris Djuricic (Soil, Fleshgrind, Jungle Rot) at Studio One in Racine, Wisc. The album, which will feature cover artwork by Dark Tranquillity's Niklas Sundin (In Flames, Arch Enemy, Sentenced), will be mastered by James Murphy (Death, Obituary,Testament), who will also contribute a guest guitar solo on the track 'All For Nothing'. Guitarist Steve Stell checks in with an update: "The recording of our new album is finally complete! Two solid months of sleepless nights and nit-picking are over! Throughout the next few weeks, James Murphy will be mastering the CD in Florida. After that, it will be ready to go to press. Thanks to everyone that came to see our set at the Milwaukee metalfest. It was our first show in way over six months. Aside from the crappy sound, technical difficulties, off-schedule time slots and short set time, everything went pretty well."

FLESHGRIND -- This Chicago-based quartet are about to unleash a pummeling offering that it will make most people cower in fear. Taking every musical aspect to the extreme, FLESHGRIND's mission is to create the most savage, fast and destructive songs possible. Their new album, Murder Without End, is a blistering and volatile 10-track package. Blending a solid mix of blazing guitar brutality with aggressive drum savagery it will leave any listener backing up in disbelief. This is an album filled with utter contempt and hatred. James Genez (guitars) recently checked in with the following comments regarding the group's Milwaukee Metalfest appearance. "Although our set at this years Milwaukee Metalfest was plagued with technical difficulties, we were quite pleased with our performance and the crowd reaction was an immense display of respect! We'd like to thank our fans in the audience, our peers that were on hand, Skinless for the gear loan, the staff at the Century Media table, and those who picked up a copy of Murder Without End, our new album. So far, the response for the new album has been great and we're psyched to get the record out and tour! Up next for FLESHGRIND will be a performance at the Central Illinois Metalfest in Urbana, IL., August 16th, and a headlining slot at the Michigan Death Fest in Westland, MI. on August 22nd. Hope to see all you sickos there." This is a record perfectly fit for people who are looking for the most unrelenting music they can possibly find. VADER plays in front of 400,000 of people! - 400,000 people participated in Vader's excellent show at Polish Woodstock! The response was simply fantastic and we'd like to say thanks to the organizers and all the band's maniacs. To see pictures of the fest check out the Vader website. Release date of Vader's new mini album has been rescheduled for 25th of September. The artwork was created by Jacek Wisniewski. New tracks were recorded and mastered at RG Studion in Gdansk with Peter Lukaszewski behind the knobs. Due to some rumors about cancelled show of Vader in Ukraine, we would like to confirm, the show will take place 100%! Vader will play for maniacs coming from Ukraine, Belarus, Russia, Hungary and Poland among others. The opening acts are best Ukrainian bands: Mental Demise, Fleshgore, Castrum and Sknil-Off. The first in Lvov scale metal-show will be held August 12 in the Palace of Sports Spartak.
