~ Email received from ENTHRONED ~
Hails! Some info on the upcoming album. Allright, here it is:
"With the breath of our last release Black Goat Ritual still in our necks, Enthroned is already preparing a conceptual MCD! The CD will be entitled "175 years of kingdom Hell", and it will be some sort of tribute to our mighty Hellgium, which celebrates its 175st birthday this year! You can see it as a statement against all pathetic and stupid separatistic movements that are always whining about imaginary money transfers and other hilarious shit.
The CD will contain following tracks:
1. The Dark Fullmoon Rises
2. Van Saksen-Coburg (a tribute to the kings)
3. Satanising of Holy Slaves
4. Dark Forces United as One
5. Tricolor Banner of Hell
Bonus track: Hellgium Messiah (live)
Expect more info to appear on our website very soon. We hope to see you all on one of our gigs this summer!
Nornagest - on behalf of Enthroned"
Thanks! Keep the metal flame burning!

~ BJÖRN 'SPEED STRID: 'If You Miss SOILWORK, You've Missed A Hell Of A Show' ~
SOILWORK vocalist Björn "Speed" Strid has posted the following message on the band's official web site:
"Five days to go before we're getting our asses over to Finland. I'm sure every metalhead in Europe is in seventh heaven with all the great tours going on right now. All I know is that we're ready and hungry to testify and prove that we're a band to count on in Europe as well. As I said before, I'm really sorry we're not covering up Europe as we probably should but we'll give you a new chance in the beginning of next year... Everything is shaping up real good and the ticket sales are going great... Due to all the good tours going on at the same time, I understand that people can't go to all of the shows and have to make a choice. One thing is clear though: If you miss SOILWORK, you've missed a hell of a show!!!"
SOILWORK are continuing to tour in support of their latest CD, "Stabbing the Drama", available now on Nuclear Blast Records. The follow-up to 2003's "Figure Number Five" was recorded at Fascination Street studios in Örebro and Dug-Out Productions in Uppsala, Sweden with producer Daniel Bergstrand (MESHUGGAH, IN FLAMES, STUCK MOJO).

I am looking forward to see you all at tour next time!
"The recordings for the my new solo album, 'Enter my Religion', are completed. It has been hard work and many sleepless nights in the studio, but the album reveals a new dimension of my musical world, spirit and personal expierence. This is what I wish to share with you. I hope you will like the new songs as they do mean a lot to me. Moreover, a new videoclip will be shot early November! I will keep you informed."

~ Girl Suicides Raise Worries Over 'Black Metal' Music ~
The AFP has issued the following report:
The joint suicide of two teenage girls who hurled themselves from a 17th-floor window in a Paris suburb has raised troubling questions about the influence of "black metal" - a form of modern rock music that glorifies violence and death.
Last Friday afternoon (Sept. 23) Marion (see photo at: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/graphics/2005/09/27/wsuic27.jpg ) and Virginie, both aged 14, visited a friend's apartment at the top of a tower-block in the middle-class suburb of Ivry-sur-Seine.
After telling him to wait in an adjoining room and expect a "surprise", they bound their hands together. "Then they said, 'Come in.' And I saw them on the window-ledge. I couldn't do anything. They just jumped," the friend Benjamin later told the press.
In one of their pockets was found a note reading: "Life isn't worth it."
Both girls - it transpired - were heavily influenced by the so-called goth movement. They wore black clothes and body studs. Friends said they were obsessed by talk of suicide, and a weblog kept by Marion reveals an angry and self-hating stream of consciousness centering on sex, ugliness and death.
The weblog also contains long extracts of lyrics from French "black metal" group ANOREXIA NERVOSA - creators of a recent album called "Suicide is Sexy" - whose content leaves little to the imagination.
"I hate you. I vomit on your soul and family. Death to your parents. Torture and rape to your children. I hate you to death," are the words of one song on the weblog. "You are the whore of human weakness. Tepid and obscene. Blinded by the sweaty desire of vanity. Worthless."
Another reads: "I can't take it any more. I have had enough. I have burned my eyes and I am afraid."
In songs with names such as "First Taste of Faecal Matter" and "Discordant Effects of Suicide", the Limoges-based group delivers a high-velocity rant backed by thrashing guitars and drums. On stage they wear white face make-up with blackened eyes to evoke the look of corpses.
"Sadly the suicides do not surprise me," said Jacky Cordonnier, a French expert on the goth movement who advises the government on cults.
"There is a drift into Satanism. A structured movement with absolutely no scruples is trying to take over and manipulate the young, and it can lead them into this kind of extreme behaviour" he said.
The goth movement began in Britain in the 1980s when it expressed a passive morbidity influenced by poets like Edgar Allan Poe and Charles Baudelaire, according to Cordonnier.
But in recent years it has been totally transformed, and its extreme exponents in the "death metal" and "black metal" music genres flirt with a kind of neo-Nazi paganism. In northern Europe groups associated with so-called Viking rock are overtly political.
Other groups whose influence Cordonnier decries are the American SLIPKNOT, DEICIDE and the singer MARILYN MANSON - whose recent concert in Switzerland was vehemently opposed by conservative campaigning groups.
"Yes, we have to differentiate between groups that preach Satanism or neo-nazism as an ideology and others that say it is just an act. But even among these there is a moral responsibility. Young people react differently. Some will just have fun, but others will genuinely enter the spirit of it - and then anything can happen," he said.
According to Paul Aries, author of a recent book on the goth movement, "There is no question that fantasising over extremely morbid images to a very violent form of music can undermine young adolescents and leave them in a destructured state.
"But what is more worrying is why so many young people choose to live out their normal teenage rebellion on this type of nihilistic and death-obsessed terrain. It is dangerous not just for the individual involved, but for society in general," he said.
"It is a symptom of something very sick in our civilisation."
A spokesman for ANOREXIA NERVOSA's record label, Listenable, expressed distress at news of their link to the suicides, but defended them against charges that they prey on teenage insecurities. The group is on tour in Norway.
"If you want someone to blame, blame society. Just turn on the television. Look at the violence children are faced with from the day they are born. Society is the problem," he said.
Jeff Veillet, of leading French rock magazine Rock One, agreed: "Yes, there is a provocative side to groups like ANOREXIA. But just because they talk about death in their songs, it does not mean they want people to commit suicide. It is an act - a way of getting through to adolescents. They are not aggressive people at all.
"And anyway people through the years have committed suicide to all kinds of music - not just black metal," he said.

~ Former GORGOROTH Drummer Pens Book About Norwegian Black Metal Scene ~
Norway's Aftenposten is reporting that former GORGOROTH drummer Erlend Erichsen is coming out with his debut novel, which focuses on the black metal music scene.
Entitled "National Satanist" (Nasjonalsatanisten), Erichsen's debut book already is being translated into French. Publishing house Damm is in talks with German and other foreign publishers as well.
Erichsen told newspaper Aftenposten that the early black metal bands that sprang up in Bergen "cultivated Norway's position as a dark and repressed country full of high mountains and cold forests. Even though there can be scary and criminal elements in the music, many Europeans see black metal as something that's genuine Norwegian."
His book is a novel, set in the 1990s when the black metal scene was born in Bergen. Some satanists were burning down churches at the time, and Varg Vikernes (BURZUM) was convicted of murdering a former band member. The book opens with a quotation from the murdered Øystein Aarseth, alias "Euronymous:" "We are inspired by our hatred towards humanity, life, goodness and happiness."
Erichsen said he can laugh now at such relative absurdity but says the quote sums up attitudes in black metal circles and in his book. He says he and most of his fellow musicians hated their audiences, and viewed them as flocks of sheep, which explains why they threw sheep heads into the audience.
He said he still has respect for the spiritual aspects and intensity within the black metal circles that he thinks are genuine. "I walked with flaming torches through the woods, and took it all very seriously," he said, but notes that his book is sarcastic. "The entire black metal culture is deranged, but incredibly fascinating at the same time."
He told Aftenposten that he thinks the black metal scene, with some exceptions, has been ruined by "drugs, spoiled brats, beer and commercialism." Pure black metal, he claims, can only be compared with opera. "It can also be difficult to access," he said.

~ ABORYM Announce New Album Title, Track Listing ~
Italian black metallers ABORYM, now featuring former EMPEROR drummer Bård "Faust" Eithun, have set "Generator" as the title of their fourth album, tentatively due before the end of the year via Season of Mist. According to a press release, "'Generator' holds the spirit of dark and unparalleled black metal bound together with a crushing death metal approach - all stitched up with the Italians' fantastic ability to naturally incorporate electronic elements and layers.
"Generator" features Eithun on drums, Prime Evil (MYSTICUM) on vocals, Fabban Malfeitor on bass, synth and backing vocals and Nysrokinfernalien on guitar and guitar synths.
Guest musicians on the album include Cultoculus (ex-MAYHEM, PERDITION HEARSE ), who did some backing vocals and spoken passages during a Rome session. And Richard K. from the Swedish band TWZ, who provided some electronic input. In addition, Attila Csihar (MAYHEM) performs his "farewell" song with ABORYM in the shape of "Man Bites God".
